As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on donations to be able to provide events and support Veterans. Your donation is also very important to the upkeep of the facilities to hold these events and ensure that there is a place for Veterans to go where they feel welcomed and know those around them have shared the same sacrifice. Please call the Post at 860-563-8876 or email PR@vfw2138.org if you would like to donate.
The hall at the Post is available to the public for events. The hall can hold up to 150 people. If you are interested in more information and availability, please contact us at 860-563-8876 or email the Hall Rental Coordinator at PR@vfw2138.org Please see our Gallery page for pictures of the hall, or stop by to take a look at it.
We would like to thank all of the community, volunteers, and members who came out to memorialize and support our Veteran community this year. It is your continued support and patriotism that gives families of fallen Veterans, and those Veterans that continue to serve, the strength and resilience to persevere.
You will periodically see our Post members or volunteers in the community selling Buddy Poppies. 100% of your donation goes directly to Veteran Outreach events and to our Relief Fund for those who come under hard times as a show of support to our beloved Veterans. Every Poppy is put together by a disabled Veteran, and 10% of the money we pay for them is given directly back to that disabled Veteran who made it.
Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! The members and volunteers are always willing and ready to support Veterans in a time of need. If you know of a Veteran who needs help and doesn't know where to turn, please contact any of the Post officers. If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group. The VFW welcomes new members who have served during a period of war in a foreign land. We also welcome those who have served in support of contingencies. Please see the link for eligibility. If you are interested in becoming a member of the VFW, please stop down to the Post or contact the Post Adjutant at ADJ@vfw2138.org

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother. - William Shakespeare
The willingness of America's veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.
On the battlefield, the military pledges to leave no soldier behind. As a Nation, let it be our pledge that when they return home, we leave no veteran behind.
